Our apartment

Along The Heerbaan; an old Roman road in Millingen aan de Rijn that runs from Xanten (Germany) to Noviomagum (the present day Nijmegen) you will find our house with its large garden that we built in 1997. It was built in a characteristic style for this area: a wide and surprising frontage facing the road including your own frontdoor. The entrance corridor leads to a stairwell with hardwood stairs you can shut down. 

Uw appartement is onlangs volledig gerenoveerd. De gehele rookvrije etage heeft een laminaten vloer. Het omvat een verrassende eet/zitkamer, 2 slaapkamers, een badkamer en een aparte bergruimte.

In the livingroom you will find a cozy diningarea for four people, a comfortable sitting area with tv and a modern kitchenette. There is a spacious storage for your backpack or trolley (e.g.).You can enjoy freshly made coffee and tea all day long. Of course there is Wi-Fi in your appartment. You have a special view on the Heerbaan.

Your compact bathroom has a fine shower and enough place to put away your toiletries. It’s nice to have a look in the backyard.

The entire garden (about 2200m2) was designed by Piet Oudolf en is daarmee één van zijn laatste particuliere ontwerpen. Er is een schaduwrijke boomgaard (o.a. een kweepeer) met tafel en banken. Het besloten hofje met terras is uw privétuin.

What makes de lange adem so special?

First of all your apartment; a nice, comfortably equipped location where you can relax for a couple of days. 

Millingen aan de Rijn is a perfect walking area. The “ommetje Millingen” offers you a route that pays attention to the dependence of and struggle with the river which the village had for centuries. Ommetje Millingen / Ommetje Millingen XL

There are also many possibilities to bike along scenic and peaceful back roads on your way to Cleve nearby in Germany. There is a bus connection to Nijmegen (bus stop on the opposite side of the road) and Cleve where the Kaffee und Kuchen is awaiting you. Or go on your bike by ferry to “the otherside” in the direction of the Achterhoek; a tour with beautiful moments to enjoy nature.

There is more than enough parking space on our own property with charging points for your car and/or bike.

Enjoyment is our core. Enjoying peace, space and hospitality. Peace: the word “must” does not exist, enjoy the still existing polderpeace here. Space: a lovely and comfortably equipped apartment provided with all modern conveniences. Hospitality: a good start of the day with a Millingen breakfast, a lovely modern dinner, we love to take care of this and much more for you.
